At THE FULLEST, our certified high-grade saffron is sourced from a local woman-owned and operated business in Southern California. This supplier works directly with farmers in Herat, Afghanistan and a portion of her profits go back to the women harvesting the saffron from the crocus plant. Sourcing in this way supports Afghan women and children who have overcome tremendous challenges and provides them with an opportunity to be self-sustaining.

Outside of saffron, we apply the same holistic integrity to each of our other ingredients. From cardamom to barberry, it is our intention to find the highest-quality products and aim to source organic or wild-harvested ingredients wherever possible. As we continue to grow, we are committed to creating a supply chain that stands for the ultimate wellbeing of all.

Saffron is a delicate but potent kitchen treasure. I infuse saffron threads in hot spring water overnight and sip them throughout the day. I love to cure farm eggs in a brine of rice vinegar and saffron with white peppercorn and laurel leaf to keep in the fridge for a quick anytime protein. I infuse bone broths and stocks with saffron, and I make fresh saffron pasta or risotto on special occasions. It's incredibly elegant, and the scent is intoxicating. Cooking with saffron is a ceremony in and of itself.

I have used other brands of saffron, but these are by far the most potent & medicinal threads I have found on the market. I know these threads are well sourced because I can LITERALLY feel it, I am instantly happier when I use them! I like to add them to my nightly tea. I also like how transparent The Fullest is about the sourcing — I know my money is going back to a good deed.
