We don’t have a television in our house. If we do decide to put something on, it’s something that we are consciously choosing to watch. Recently, we checked out the Maine episode on Apple Home. The episode follows Julie O’Rourke (the founder of clothing label Rudy Jude) and her family as they remodeled and built their home using sustainable materials. We fell in love with their project and their general approach to life and it really inspired our family. Everyone should watch this episode!
Shaving and I have never been friends and I’ve always ended up having some sort of reaction. Discovering sugaring as a hair removal alternative was my grooming dream come true. Over the years, I’ve gone back and forth with sugaring but now I’m well and truly back on the sugaring bandwagon! It feels better for my skin and I just love the natural approach to hair removal that it offers. My studio of choice is Sugared + Bronzed. At this point, they have probably sugared my entire body. There are a lot of places popping up that offer sugaring as a complimentary service, just make sure they are legit and only use lemon, sugar, and water for their sugaring formula.
This is my all-time favorite jam and I love having it on hand for mornings to add to anything from porridge to toast to waffles.
This is probably the best natural shampoo and conditioner I’ve found to date. Over the years, I’ve tried hundreds of versions and they either a) don’t fully clean my hair and leave it feeling greasy, b) aren’t the greatest smelling, or c) aren’t really as clean as their labels say they are. This brand has been on my radar for awhile but I was hesitant to try it because I figured the same thing would happen. However, once I finally tried their products I wish I’d switched over earlier!
I’m a huge fan of specialty coffee shops and cafes but only frequent them if they have organic, house-made milks. Recently, I realized my local coffee shop was making their house almond milk with glyphosate filled almonds and needed to switch it up. For that reason, I am a huge fan of Blue Bottle as they use Goodmylk — an alternative milk company owned by a personal friend of mine and I trust them. Now, I’m visiting Blue Bottle every afternoon with my son to get him hot cocoa! I appreciate Blue Bottle’s attention to sourcing only the best ingredients and it doesn’t stop at just their coffee and drinks. Their food items are always made using the best produce — including the bread!
Around five years ago, I stumbled across Sweet Laurel and was instantly a huge fan. Although we are good friends, it’s not the reason I’m a devotee of all things Sweet Laurel. Initially, it was her sweet treats that transformed my life. Fortunately, I was able to convince her to make our wedding cake and bombarded her with a lot of questions! We still laugh about it to this day. It’s been amazing to journey together as we have grown our families and our businesses. Now, I am thrilled to have her savory cookbook because her recipes are always my go-to for an easy and nutritious meal! Order yours here.
