Today’s guest, Nicole Granato, is a holistic nutritionist and women’s health specialist who specializes in hormonal imbalances, PCOS, adrenal fatigue, eating disorders, and much more.
Before her professional career, Nicole’s background in health and wellness began during her early upbringing. Growing up, Nicole’s family was exceptionally aware of holistic health and healing and regularly advocated for alternative methods of care. Having never been vaccinated and home-schooled, Nicole grew to develop a belief system that valued food as medicine— a natural, organic alternative to the convenience of synthetic pills and injections.
“It was during a year of rebellion, I’m pretty sure,” Nicole says of her then-decision to start birth control as a young teenager. She would later learn, years after, that she had developed polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), which she now believes her time on birth control to be the cause of. However, using the same practices and knowledge of food she had learned in her youth, Nicole would later cure herself of the very disease she was told was “incurable” by the doctors that had first diagnosed her.
In today’s episode, we sit down with Nicole to discuss her professional practice, using holistic nutrition and intuitive eating to treat common women’s health issues, and how to approach caring for our bodies with a listen-first perspective. Tune in below.
