The practice of Self-Care yoga allows us to care for others. We have to “recharge” ourselves so that our energy won’t be drained. Just as we plug in our smart phone to charge the battery, our yoga practice reboots us by helping to increase our energy levels and giving us the stamina and strength we need to live our lives on life’s terms. Some people find it very easy to care for themselves, while some of us have to really work at it in order to be consistent.
This class is not only about putting ourselves first, but about taking care of ourselves so that we can be helpful to one another. Mary Oliver said it best when she said, “Love yourself. Then forget it. Then, love the world.”
